About us

StarTraq provides UK local authorities with software to digitise the application and management of highway licences and permits.

Established in 1999 in the automated traffic enforcement market, StarTraq’s software is used by over 50% of the UK Police forces, including the London Metropolitan Police.

StarTraq is constantly investing in new technologies for the public sector, and we now provide solutions to local authorities to digitally transform their processes. In October 2017, StarTraq partnered with Cardiff Council to streamline the council’s highway licence applications by creating one software solution to apply for, pay for and manage multiple highway licence application types.

StarGo has continued to grow from strength to strength, with new licence types, such as Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTRO’s), being constantly added. In 2021, Kent County Council invested in StarGo, increasing its licence cost recovery by 32%. 

Since 2023, Transport for London, Brighton & Hove City Council, East Sussex Highways / Balfour Beaty and West Sussex Council have invested in StarGO.
